As a society we often critize those around us without first looking at their motives. Poachers in Africa kill elephants not because they wish to see the extincton of this beautiful creature but because they must ensure their own survival. Child pornography despite its grotesque nature occurs because there is money in the sale of it, and money feeds hungry mouths. Prostitution, child labour all things we demean in economically challenged countries exist because there is a paying market and money is a nessecity for survival. So we can point out the faults and talk forever about how the world would be a better place if they did not happen but until we admit and deminish the source we will get no where. The first step in resolving these situations is to abolish the market. To eliminate the grusome murder of animals like the elephant we must take away the desire to sell ivory. To end child labour we must provide jobs and ways to increase pay so parents support their families. We must acknowledge that as long as revenue is available for people by satisfying the need of a morally incorrect industry they will continue to kill animals and sell of their children not out of want but need.
