The government of the Philippines strongly condemns China's
violation of UNOL-R1. In this recently passed resolution,
a demilitarized zone was created in the Spratly islands.
China, unsurprisingly, violated this resolution and failed
to fulfill their obligations as a permanent member of
the United Nations Organization. Any hostile acts
towards the settlements in our islands shall result
in full military retaliation against China. We demand
that China, a permanent member, to fulfill their
obligations to the UN by withdrawing these ships in
the Spratly waters, in accordance with UNOL-R1. If China
has any problems at all, the ASEAN and the Philippines
are willing to listen. Also, we urge China to set aside
their differences and attend the conference as stated in UNOL-R1
to state their case. If there case has any validity,
the mediators present shall accomodate a fair ruling
for China.
It is quite evident that these aggressive actions by China
has again raised questions about their capacity to be
a permanent member in the Security Council. As responsible
member states, we appeal to other peace loving nations
to pressure China to reconsider there negligent actions
and to press for progress in Security Council reform.
