I rarely step out of my character in model UN's but this post needs me to do so. In this simulation I represent India, meaning that if I was truly the Indian ambassador to the UN, I would very certainly be Hindu and opposed to eating beef and other forms of meat. Having said that, I think that this post is completely senseless, illogical, and arrogant. Taking on an issue like world poverty, which is by its very nature complex and multifaceted, and proposing a simplistic and ridiculous proposal as not eating meat to solve the problem is not what we're here for. First and foremost, the person who wrote this should remember that the United Nations cannot impose on matters of internal soverignty, even less personal freedoms (or lack of it), Second, presuming that the person who wrote this is an animal rights activist which believes that eating meat is cruel should be reminded that this is a United Nations simulation and as such, topics like these are not boarded in the debate at the UN, because it would probably be routed in a final vote. Finally, I'd suggest that the person study the issue much more closely and present more concrete ideas than simplistic, badly-thought arguments which do not help the debate
