Concerning All MeetingsAll meetings are at the School of Ageless Wisdom. See the map. There is no tuition nor suggested donations for any class or meditation. Donations are gratefully accepted. See the section Financing Group Work. Full Moon MeditationsWe have held public full moon meditations since 1975. At the time of the full moon there is a heightened potential for spiritual service for which we attempt to make ourselves available. Click for further information about the spiritual meanings of the lunar cycle. These meditations are open to the public and we invite your participation. Each additional participant magnifies the possibilities of any group work and this is even more important at the time of the full moon. The format of the meeting is an address by a member of the School of Ageless Wisdom, followed by a group meditation. The date for each full moon meditation is announced in Cycles and the School of Wisdom Calendar. You may also contact the School for dates and times. The time is 7:30 PM Central Time unless otherwise noted. Even if you do not live in the area you can find or start a meditation at the time of the full moon in your area. Contact us for information. New Moon MeditationsWe hold public meditations near the time of each new moon. We watch a video prepared by Lucis Trust about the esoteric nature of the Energies of the constellations which will be behind the Sun at the time of the full moon. This is followed by a group meditation. The date for each new moon meditation is announced in Cycles and the School of Wisdom Calendar. The time is 7:30 PM Central Time unless otherwise noted. Everyone is cordially invited to participate. World Invocation Day Public MeditationThe School will be open from 7:00 AM CST until 7:00 PM CST on World Invocation Day for study and meditation. The Great Invocation will be sounded on the hour and half hour. At 7:30 PM CST there will be a candle lighting and group meditation. Christmas Day MeditationThe School will be open from 7:00 AM CST until 7:00 PM CST on Christmas Day for study and meditation. The Great Invocation will be sounded on the hour and half hour. At 7:30 PM CST there will be a candle lighting and group meditation. About Our Open Reading GroupsThere is at least one message which comes across clearly in the study of the Alice Bailey books: the importance of group work, now and in the future. A service which any of us can do is to receive Energy from as spiritual a source as is open to us, and bring this Energy to life in our lives. Certainly individuals can work in this way, yet the potential for spiritual service is greatly magnified when the individual decides to work in a group. A group of individuals working together for a while becomes something akin to an organism, with each part affecting the whole and the whole affecting each part. This organism has a much greater potential for contacting and distributing spiritual Energies than does an individual. Each additional worker causes a logarithmic rise in the potentiality and possibilities of the group. Sunday Open Reading GroupThis group begins at 10:00 AM each Sunday and ends at 12:00 Noon. We silently read the same passages together from both the Alice Bailey and the Agni Yoga books. Studying and mulling over (meditating on) these symbols (word symbols) together can elicit a meaningful relationship to the Truth substanding them. After reading, there is an open discussion period when we share our insights and inquiries. The precipitation of these spiritual potencies are not for our intellectual pleasure. Each group member attempts to bring these Energies to life in service to our fellow humans, both at the meetings and in all facets of our lives. We end the meeting with a group meditation. Contact the School for information on the books currently being read and the format for the group. Monday Open Reading GroupThis group begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 9:00 PM on Mondays. The format for this group is somewhat different from the Sunday meeting. We read solely from the Alice Bailey material, and read the same selection together in silence. There is however, no discussion, but plenty of time for silent mulling and meditation. We end with a group meditation. Like the Sunday group, we attempt to bring the meanings to life in service to Humanity. If you have been reading the Bailey books for a while either in a group or on your own, you may find this group helpful. Most newcomers to this teaching need basic esoteric concepts clarified by asking questions. Therefore, the Monday group would not be as suitable to those unfamiliar with the Bailey teachings. Introductory ClassesOver the years there have been thousand of people who have taken our Introductory Classes. These classes are intended as an orientation to the specific work of the School of Ageless Wisdom and also as a general introduction to the Ageless Wisdom as presented in the Bailey books. The classes are from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM once a week for eight successive weeks. It is best not to try to attend the classes if you know you could not attend all eight. The understanding builds from week to week. There is a topic presented each week and an assignment to be carried out over the following week, before the next class. Questions are encouraged and there is plenty of time to discuss and explore. It is assumed that those interested in the work of the School are not "beginners" but are mentally developed, mature individuals, capable of standing alone. Yet they must be prepared to subordinate creative intelligence to group endeavor for the sake of increased power to serve through the group magnification of individual potency.
